PRESS: X-Holding may launch low-orbit connection satellites soon
MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- Russian IT group X-Holding could launch the first batch of low-orbit connection satellites under the Bureau 1440 project in March–May to service subscribers across the whole country, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.
State corporation Roscosmos will put on the orbit in March the first demonstration satellite of company Bureau 1440, which belongs to X-Holding, a source at a large Russian IT company told the daily.
A person close to X-Holding said that then the first batch of low-orbit satellite constellation will be launched.
The satellites will service subscribers of the territory of the whole country that will improve coverage of underpopulated and remote areas, the Digital Development Ministry told the daily, adding that the State Radio Frequency Commission had approved the allocation of frequencies for satellite connection for the company.
